Anna and I met the summer after fifth grade and remained close friends until her death on January 14, 2009. She was so much a part of my family that when my daughters were young, they thought she was their aunt. She was a teacher at Carlston Elementary in Pearland ISD for many years and truly loved teaching. She was seriously ill for many years, but somehow remained positive and focused on others. She is dearly missed.

I remember church choir trips with Anna. She was one of the first friends I made when I moved to Pearland. She was a very sweet person.
